Victorian 18 Carat Gold Entwined Snake Fob Pendant Seal, 1900
About the Item
A Victorian 18ct yellow gold entwined snake fob pendant and carnelian seal. The fob pendant is crafted in gold with a pair of entwined snakes, and completed by a plain oval carnelian seal.
The fob is hallmarked with Birmingham assay marks, "18" to denote 18 carat gold, and the date letter "a" for 1900.
Period: - Early 20th century.
Maker: - Makers mark of "M.W&S" for Matthew Wilcox & Son.
Engraving: - The fob is unengraved.
Measurement: - 2.3cm (height not including the end loop) x 1.95cm (width) x 1.6cm (depth).
Weight: - 7.9 grams.
Condition: - The fob pendant & carnelian seal are in good condition. Minor surface scratches and abrasion commensurate with age. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
