Victorian 9ct Gold Front & Back Bird Floral Locket
About the Item
This beautiful and large 9ct gold back & front Victorian Aesthetic round locket was made circa the 1900s. The locket depicts a pair swallows in the flight surrounded by a garland of flowers. It has been engraved with letters on the front and hallmarked on the back.The locket is also decorated with a lovely 'sun rays' design on the edge of the locket. Please see images for more details.
The swallow was considered a symbol of new life, renewal, and revival, and it also symbolizes loyalty and everlasting love. The locket opens to reveal a compartment for two photographs. A lovely treat or gift to someone especially who starts a new chapter/transformation in their life.
