About the Item

A very fine signed Japanese mixed metals okimono. In sterling silver with applied copper bands. Made by Miyamoto Shoko. In the form of a double fan. A cover with a pivot hinge reveals a compartment with an engraved landscape scene. Marked to the reverse with a monogram "IGR" and a cursive "Japan" along with the Japanese characters for sterling silver (純銀) and "Made by Miyamoto" (宮本造). Simply a wonderful piece of figural silver by one of Japan's master silversmiths! Date: 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is a small bend to one side of base and some edge wear. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Miyamoto Shoko Marks: Marked to the reverse with a monogram "IGR" and a cursive "Japan" along with the Japanese characters for sterling silver (純銀) and "Made by Miyamoto" (宮本造).
