THIS IS A SUPERB ANTIQUE AUSTRIAN VIENNA BRONZE OF A CAT OR KITTEN MUSICIAN PLAYING A CELLO OR BASE. THE BRONZE DATES TO THE LATE 19TH TO EARLY 20TH CENTURY AND IS A MASTERPIECE OF VIENNA BRONZE ARTISTRY. THE BRONZE IS FROM ONE OF THE FINEST COLLECTIONS OF AUSTRIAN VIENNA BRONZES ASSEMBLED.
The cat musician is a wonderful size: 1 5/8 inches (4 cm) tall.
The Vienna Bronze creations are unparalleled in their realistic lifelike modeling, their refined elegant poses, their exquisite painted details and the inherent charm of the finished figure.
This wonderful antique Austrian Vienna Bronze (Bronze de Vienne, Wiener Bronze, Cold Painted Bronze) dates to circa 1890-1920. The bronze is of the highest quality of Vienna Bronzes with absolutely superb modeling and expression. The painting of the cat is elegant and refined. The faces of the cat is full of the intelligence and charm that we all associate with the wonderful creatures.
