About the Item

This rare satin art glass medallion executed in relief depicts a fairy or a nympf designed as a young woman with dragonfly wings. It is signed Stalin at the bottom right for Gabriel Stalin, a French sculptor and medallist. Gabriel Stalin worked for renowned Paris Jewellers such as Pièl Frères. The iridescent satin glass in pale blue, pink and greenish hues reflects the colour scheme of dragonflies as found in nature The brooch came to me with one of the four prongs of the silver plated mount missing, iIhave had it restored. The glass relief is sitting safely in the setting. The original pin is made out of metal.
