Victorian Era 18k Gold Cat-Eye Chrysoberyl Pearl Arrow Brooch
Located in Versailles, FR
For sale a rare arrow brooch dated from the 19th century, the Victorian era. This brooch features a stunning yellowish-gray cat-eye chrysoberyl cabochon in the center: a precious phenomenon gemstone that displays a line in the center of the stone when exposed to light. The brooch is mounted in 18K yellow gold and it is stamped with the French owl hallmark for 18K gold. Arrows have been used in sentimental jewelry for centuries and have had various symbolic meanings over time. In the Victorian era, arrows were associated with sentimentality and affection. Arrows were often incorporated into jewelry pieces, such as brooches and lockets, as a symbol of devotion and fidelity. They were also used in jewelry to signify direction, pointing the wearer towards their true love or guiding them through the journey of life. But what makes this piece really special is the use of the cat-eye chrysoberyl which is not often to be found. A cat's eye chrysoberyl gemstone...
