A Georgian Bague au Firmament blue enamel and diamond ring
About the Item
A Georgian Bague au Firmament blue enamel and diamond ring, the oval blue enamel set to the centre with an oval rose-cut diamond, surrounded by six round rose-cut diamonds all diamonds cut-down silver collet-set on enamel, to a rose-cut diamond-set boarder, diamonds estimated to weigh 1.50 carats in total, to a gold mount with tapering shoulders, circa 1800, head measuring 3.7x2.6cm, finger size J, gross weight 22.3 grams.
This Georgian ring is in good condition, minimal abrasion to Bristol blue Later ring shank unmarked, tested as 18ct gold.
A marvelous Georgian ring from the turn of the nineteenth century. This piece features an impressive face of rich midnight blue enamel set with seven lively rose-cut diamonds. The central plaque is surrounded by a further row of glittering diamonds, which complement the deep blue enamel. This statement piece is full of historic charm and beauty. It comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and would be a magnificent addition to a silk gown.
