About the Item

Аntique ca. early XX cent. solid 18K Yellow Gold Bague au Firmamen styled Blue Enamel and Diamond Ring. Hallmarked 750, likely Italian 1920s -1930s, logo of the maker. L Crown is 14 mm x 12 mm x 5mm. Enamel was applied on a Platinum or White Gold base. Eight - cut Diamond set in Platinum/ or white Gold claws with open back is Ø 3.5 mm x 1.75 mm deep / ca 0.2 ct , color ca. F, G / VS. Note the construction of the crown - with concave(!) surface of the front side. Diamond cluster is sticking out of the deep and protects Cobalt Blue Guilloché Enamel from any contact with anything around. And any damage to the Enamel may only be caused if anything long and sharp reaches the Blue, which is very unlikely thing to happen. Size: Ø US 5.75 / 16.3 mm. Can be sized a bit. Weight: 5.4 grams. Condition is fine used. Enamel shows one tiny technological crack that occurred during the firing of the Enamel. Never mind some reflections that can be seen on the surface of Enamel. Since 1775, jewelry with blue enamel backgrounds became popular in Europe, especially in England and France. In France, this Blue and diamond jewelry type was called ' Bagues de Firmament ' which means "Rings of the Heavens" as the diamonds represent celestial bodies in the deep blue night sky. > Most of the items that we sell are not new at all if not stated otherwise.
