About the Item

Old Russian or Finish Ring hand - made between late 19th - early 20 centuries. Floral ornament with rose cut Diamonds attached over translucent and speckled Red Enamel background. From 1775, Gold jewelry with Diamonds and Enamel became very popular in Europe. Usually high - quality Diamond Rings with Enameled backgrounds always followed certain designs that allowed better protection of Enamel. This ring has a silver flower cluster with Diamonds, it was designed to be highly decorative ! But technically it is also a protruding second Silver tier well set with hard and wear-resistant stones that was meant to disperse, redirect sideways or stop anything that is attempting to approach the Enamel. In its turn the enameled surface of the crown is concave shaped, and this future provides even better protection for Enamel. A few light scratches are visible here under magnification anyway, but basically that worked well over time. Metal tested solid 18K Yellow Gold ( no hallmarks) . Crown is 19mm x 14mm x 7mm deep. Flower detail measures: 11.6mm x 7.2mm deep. The largest Diamond is Ø 2.25mm / ca 0.06 ct , four others Ø 2mm /ca.0.04ct Total ca. 0.15 ctw. Condition is fine used, very minor damage to Enamel.
