About the Item
An early 20th century diamond and sapphire cluster ring, the central old European-cut diamond estimated to weigh 0.2 carats, surrounded by six round faceted sapphires estimated to weigh 0.6 carats and embellishes with twenty-four small Swiss-cut diamonds estimated to weigh a further 0.35 carats in total, all millegrain-set in platinum to yellow gold back, with triple-spilt shoulders and D-section shank marked 18ct, circa 1920, the head measuring 1.5 x 1.3cm, finger size M, gross weight 3.7 grams.
This vintage ring is in very good condition for its age.
A lovely diamond and sapphire cluster ring from the early 20th century. This charming ring features twinkling diamonds and midnight blue sapphires arranged in a sweet flower design. The union of warm yellow gold mount and platinum millegrain setting graciously complement each other, representing a gentle nod to the past Victorian jewellery, but at the same time announcing the 20th century jewellery aesthetics – gleaming white platinum combined with shimmering diamonds. The deep blue of the sapphires adds colour and grace to a delicate flower motif. This romantic ring comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and would make an extraordinary engagement ring.
