3.45 Carat Diamond Bowtie Tank Ring with Emeralds in 15 Karat Yellow Gold

This ring, probably made in the 1960's or earlier, came to us set with a big blue topaz and an 18 karat yellow gold overlay. Eytan Brandes polished off all the yellow (tiresome!) except on the inside, where time and abrasion will do the job. Then he replaced the blue topaz with an absolutely beautiful, very large (almost 16mm!) and very clean, near-round black Tahitian pearl. The pierced decorated setting is ornamented with a stunning 3.45ct emerald cut topaz, collet set in in subtle relief to the centre of the design. The feature topaz is encircled by twelve alternating round faceted cut emeralds and antique (circa 1900) Old European cut diamonds. The tapering, elevated ring shoulders blend seamlessly with the plain ring shank. The interior of the shank features the contemporary engraved inscription 'R.P.B. from Graole June 24 1936'. This stunning antique cocktail ring has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18k gold.
