About the Item
This multi-colored tourmaline floral ring features pastel colored gemstones prong set in 22k gold. Six VS diamonds (.06 carats) decorate the band with a bit of extra sparkle. This was made at our workshop in Jaipur, by hand.

Discovered in the late 1600’s by Dutch traders off the West Coast of Italy, tourmalines are found in an unmatched array of color sand are known as the ‘Gemstone of the rainbow.” According to Egyptian legend, resulted from passing through a rainbow during its ancient journey upwards from the center of the Earth. In fact, tourmaline has one of the widest color ranges of any gem species, occurring in various shades of virtually every hue.
In ancient times, diamonds were believed to be fragments of stars and the tear drops of the Gods. They were believed to possess magical qualities with powers far beyond the understanding of common man. Throughout time they have been treasured for their beauty and powers.

Ico & the Bird Fine Jewelry
Ico & the Bird Fine Jewelry was founded by designer Juliana Domenico (’Ico’) Carr and inspired by her world travels, searching for the most beautiful and unique gemstones to incorporate into her designs. Gemstones have always been a passion for the designer. She spent the first five years of her life in Brazil, a country known for some of the worlds’ most striking and rare stones, and her earliest memories were of playing with giant, loose aquamarines in her mother’s jewelry box and arranging them into designs. Working primarily in 22k matte gold and hand-picked gemstones, Juliana works with master craftsmen from around the world employing ancient gold smithing techniques in the creation of singular pieces that will be treasured for generations. Juliana holds an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from The George Washington University. She also holds a Graduate Gemology (GG) degree from The Gemological Institute of America and Graduate Fine Arts from UCLA.
