About the Item
Old mine diamond and ruby target ring. Set to center with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 3.30 carats, enclosed by sixteen tapered calibre-cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back channel settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.80 carats, further bordered by twenty eight round eight-cut diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.85 carats, flanked further by ten round eight cut diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings with a combined weight of 0.12 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 4.27 carats, to a striking target cluster featuring an ornately pierced gallery with foliate motifs and intricate fancy backholing, the graceful tapering split shoulders flow down to a fine D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, engraved '20-1920', circa 1920.
