About the Item

Antique 18K yellow gold and garnet ring, exquisitely engraved in the interior of the band: Thomas Nixon lived Nov 1712 -Oct. 65. This yellow gold ring is in excellent condition as evident of the fine crisp chased repousse work and the legibility of the writing. The cabochon garnet is a bright red color in fine condition. The ring has been tested and it is at least 18K gold. The elegant foliage motifs as seen throughout the gold work of this ring is typical of jewelry from the Georgian time period as is the closed back of the stone. This ring is a fine example from this time period. It is very rare to encounter such a fine example - in this condition - all in gold and not silver. This ring is a size 9 and can be resized. Our hand model is a medium to large size. All items sold are accompanied by a detailed Statement of Value by our gemologist, as well as all original gemological documentation, if specified in the listing.
