A Turn-of-the-20th-century Russian mouse ring
About the Item
A Turn-of-the-20th-century Russian mouse ring, the realistically carved silver mouse having its tail and its front feet wrapped around a rose-gold ring, the ring measuring 0.8mm wide, bearing Russian workmaster’s mark possibly for Tchelkanov Dmitry Ivanovich, circa 1900, measuring 1.9 x 0.3cm, finger size N, gross weight 0.8 grams.
This antique ring is in very good condition for its age. Unmarked, tested as silver and 14ct gold.
This playful Russian gold ring is from Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. It features a sweet little silver mouse running endlessly around a rose-gold ring. The feet and tail of the mouse wrap firmly around the ring, but its head faces forward, its eyes locked ahead, and ears pricked back. This lovely ring is original in its design and would look charming sitting on one’s finger as an everyday piece.
