Victorian 22 Carat Gold and Enamel Memorial Ring, 1896

About the Item

A Victorian 22 carat yellow gold and black enamel memorial ring. The ring is hallmarked with Birmingham marks, 1896, the makers mark "W.M", and a crown symbol together with "22" to denote 22 carat gold. Period: - Late 19th Century. Date: - 1896. Engraving: - The band reads "In Memoriam", and is inscribed to the interior with the name of the person being mourned: - "Eliyth Eleanor (Kilburn) Mulholland"; & "B.31.1.72. M.7.10.96. D.23.6.97." to denote her date of birth, date of marriage, and deceased date.". Measurement: - UK ring size P 1/2 (leading edge). US ring size 8 (leading edge). The band measures approximately 6.8mm in width. Weight: - 7.0 grams. Condition: - The band and the enamel on the ring are both in good condition, displaying minor surface scratches, and nicks commensurate with age. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
