About the Item

Unusual antique Gold and Carnelian Signet Ring with fine hand-carved intaglio of Taurus or Bull / Baal ? with short inscription in an unknown tongue. Richly decorated surfaces of the shoulders and shank: relief stars and figures of running gazelles or other artiodactyls. Completely smooth and polished surfaces inside. The ring face is 25 mm high at N/S axes. The fine impression of this intaglio bull is 17 mm x 11 mm carved in high-resolution detail. The hollow shank is made of solid 18ct Yellow Gold (tested ) + bezel set oval cut natural orange Sard or Carnelian, a variety of Chalcedony measuring 20 mm x 14 mm / ca. 12ct No hallmarks. Age/origin is unknown. This ring is unisex for Men and Women if the size is right. Condition: Fine Used. Stone in fine shape with very minor signs of wear on its surface, securely set. Size: Ø 7 US scale / 17.35 mm. Resizing this ring is not recommended if You need to increase the size. Making it smaller sized is possible.
