About the Item

This sterling silver wine funnel dates to the reign of William IV and is what we call a 'marriage' of two pieces. The two separating pieces are each hallmarked for a different maker, both of which are unidentified, however sit nicely together and give the impression that they were almost designed for one another. The top section of the funnel is hallmarked for manufacture in London in 1832, and it, along with its attached section are both hallmarked for different maker's which we have not been able to positively attribute. A lovely piece of 19th Century English silver which is in very good condition for its age, with only minor bumps and abrasions associated with use over the past 200 years. Marked - London hallmarks for manufacture in 1832 along with two unidentified maker's marks Measures - 12.5cm L (tip to tip) Total weight of piece - 78.5 grams
