Space age design ashtray by Luigi Massoni for Guzzini, Italy 1970s
By Guzzini, Luigi Massoni
Located in ECHT, NL
This minimalist space age ashtray was designed by Luigi Massoni and manufactured by Guzzini in the 1970s. The lower half is made from hard plastic. The upper half is made from chromed metal. Seeing the condition of this item, it was probably never used as an ashtray and is therefore in very good condition. Luigi Massoni ITALIAN, 1930-2013 Luigi Massoni was one of Italy’s most prolific designers and instrumental in the growth of the country’s design industry in the postwar years through his products, advertising campaigns and journalistic work at Italian magazines. Born in Milan, Massoni trained at the Collettivo di Architettura in Milan and worked as an architect and designer as well as a freelance journalist and consultant. He was involved with many of Italy’s most influential brands, such as Poltrona Frau, the Guzzini group and Alessi. Massoni was hired by Alessi, the legendary housewares and kitchen utensils manufacturer, which had been around since 1921, in the mid-1950s. In 1957, he collaborated with like-minded product designer Carlo Mazzeri...

Excepcional Brass and Copper Wall Ashtray by Hans Agne Jakobsson, Sweden 1960s
By Hans-Agne Jakobsson, AB Markaryd
Located in Forest, BE
Exceptional brass and copper wall ashtray. It can be use a plant stand. Made of massive brass with wall fixture. You need two screws to fix it. The copper ashtray is made in one piece. It was cleaned by its previous owner but if you let it leave it will patinated soon. 26cm from the wall, diameter of the ashtray is 21.4cm and the height 5.5 cm.
