About the artist:
Born in Trenton, New Jersey, 1946 Interested in art from the age of 7, Christopher Forrest still speaks fondly of a set of colored pencils presented to him then by his parents; At 11, he won his first award for painting and started exhibiting in galleries. Along with his interest in art grew a keen attraction for the outdoors and the wildlife which thrived there. After considering schooling in art, Chris chose to study civil engineering. Upon graduation from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Chris began a career as a commissioned officer in the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The Army provided Chris the opportunity to observe wildlife from the swamps of Florida to the lakes of Quebec, in addition to Europe and Viet Nam. In 1973, the Army sent Chris to graduate school at North Carolina State University, at this time Chris started to paint wildlife. Chris resigned from the Army in 1978 and took a position as an artist with Evergreen Publishing Co. He has produced more than thirty original graphic editions for Evergreen. His original graphics are handled by some 350 galleries in North America. He is currently General Manager at Evergreen. His work and articles about his work have appeared in numerous wildlife and art publications. Chris strongly believes in wildlife conservation and is a member of many conservationist organizations. His donated prints have raised a great deal of money for Ducks Unlimited, Newjersey, Audubon and Ward Foundations. In 1980 he realized one of his major professional goals. He was elected to membership in the Society of Animal Artists. "Creating a painting or graphic is an exciting adventure and challenge for me. Starting with the observation of the animal in the wilderness, I then approach the painting with the attitude that it will be my finest work." About the artist.
Born and educated in Cleveland Gary Bukovnik has lived in San Francisco for over 25 years. Primarily using the mediums of watercolor, monotype, and lithograph, Bukovnik creating colorful floral images of great depth and intensity.
Bukovnik collaborates with Trillium Press, whose owner and master printer, David Salgado, studied at the Tamarind Workshop, formerly in Los Angeles.
In 2003, the American Academy in Rome invited Bukovnik to attend the academy as a Visiting Artist for six weeks. He was asked to attend a second session in February 2005. In 2001, he was selected to create a poster for the prestigious List Collection, which creates posters to commemorate programs at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York. Lincoln Center past contributors have included Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Robert Motherwell, Helen Frankenthaler, Alex Katz, Elizabeth Murray, and Donald Sultan. The work of Gary Bukovnik is held in public and private collections worldwide.

About the artist:
Valerio Adami was born in Bologna. In 1935, at the age of ten, he began to study painting under the instruction of Felice Carena. He was accepted into the Brera Academy (Accademia di Brera) in 1951, and there studied as a draughtsman until 1954 in the studio of Achille Funi. In 1955 he went to Paris, where he met and was influenced by Roberto Matta and Wifredo Lam. His first solo exhibition came in 1959 in Milan.
In his early career, Adami's works were expressionistic, but by the time of his second exhibition in 1964 at Kassel, he had developed a style of painting reminiscent of French cloisonnism, featuring regions of flat color bordered by black lines. Unlike Gauguin, however, Adami's subjects were highly stylized and often presented in fragments, as seen in Telescoping Rooms (1965).
In the 1970s, Adami began to address politics in his art, and incorporated subject matter such as modern European history, literature, philosophy, and mythology. In 1971, he and his brother Gioncarlo created the film Vacances dans le désert. In 1974 he illustrated a Helmut Heissenbuttel poem, Occasional Poem No. 27. About the artist:
Zamy Steynovitz was born in Liegnitz, Poland in 1951 and at a very early age he aspired to be a painter. He won first prize in an art competition for children before immigrating to Israel in 1957.
Formally educated at the Art School in Tel-Aviv and the Royal Academy in London, he completed his studies and began artistic pursuits in earnest. Zamy established his place in the art world after displaying his work in one-man exhibitions around the world.
His art subjects has been strongly influenced by Jewish tradition and folklore. Additionally, his work presents general themes such as Paris cafes, still lives, flowers, circuses and landscapes.
In the early stages of his work, he used rich pastels and light brush strokes. When he visited South America in the early 1980’s, his work reflected his new surroundings and were further enhanced by local brightness and colorfulness.
His paintings are a reflection of his Eastern-European Jewish heritage, and they are enhanced by a rich choice of warm tones and colors
He became known in the circles of the Nobel Institute for Peace in Norway, and consequently was acquainted with many Nobel prize winners, such as Anwar Sadat, Menahem Begin, the Dalai Lama, Itzhak Rabin, Shimon Peres, Elie Wiesel, Desmond Tutu, Oscar Arias Sanchez, as well as many of the world’s greatest leaders and artists.
He tragically passed away in September of 2000.
The work of Zamy Steynovitz is held in numerous collections worldwide.

This exceptional geometric abstract serigraph is by the noted Iraqi/American artist George Chemeche (1934-2022 ). He is a master of serigraph printing, but this print has more than technical excellence. It is a wonderful, rhythmic abstract composition. I believe Chemeche might have been a proponent of and/or influenced by the Pattern and Decoration Movement which was happening in New York in the 1970s and 1980s. The print has never been framed and is in very good condition. I will ship the print rolled in a heavyweight tube.
George Chemeche was born in 1934 and studied at the Avni Art School in Tel Aviv and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. The style with which he is intimately associated, pattern painting, The most serviceable definition is that pattern is the systematic repetition of a motif or motifs used to cover a surface uniformly. The spaces between motifs are either other motifs or are an integral part of the repeat. Usually, patterning intentionally acknowledges the decorative function of art, reconciling both the decorative and the meaningful.

An early twentieth-century sugar-lift aquatint showing Zeus in the guise of a swan, reclining and cradling Lida in his wings while King Tyndareus ponders the mutability of human circumstance.
Born in Utica, New York, Arthur Davies attended the Chicago Academy of Design from 1879 to 1882. He furthered his studies at the Chicago Art Institute, before moving to New York City in 1885 where he studied at the Art Students League and Gotham Art Students League. In 1893, he made the first of many trips to Europe, visiting Holland, Paris, and London. He became an arch-exponent of Modernism and the central organizing figure of 1913's watershed Armory Show. Davies developed a style that combined visionary Symbolism with elements of Tonalism and Cubism.
Who Was Who in American Art describes him as an “…important but enigmatic Modernist whose work was poetic, mysterious, and visionary”. Davies was the recipient of many gold medals and prizes and juried awards and his work is held in the permanent collections of museums nationwide, including New York’s Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, among others.

Scott Fitzgerald received his Master’s Degree in Arts from California State University Fullerton, and went on to teach drawing and printmaking for 2 years at the university.
During his college years, he focused his study in contemporary art and photography, creating mixed media works often with social comments. It was not until the sophomore year, he discovered the traditional art of etching in his printmaking class. Immediately, he embraced the complex and difficult technical process of making prints from etching on copper plates.
Scott Fitzgerald established himself as a prominent printmaker in the next few years. With a strong interest in history, he accepted a commission to produce a series of etching depicting 15 Orange County historical landmarks.
