Vintage Danish Table Lamp from Kastrup Glass for Holmegaard
By Kastrup
Located in Søborg, DK
Vintage Danish table lamp by Kastrup glass for Holmegaard in blue hand blown glass from the 1960s. Rewired with twisted black cloth flex and can be delivered with an EU UK or US plug. The work was laid on 12 October 1847 by master of the stable Christian Conrad Sophus Count Danneskiold-Samsøe. In 1873 it was transferred to a limited company and in the same year Godthaab Glasværk near Helsingør (founded approx. 1858 by Mathias Jørgensen) was leased. This was definitively taken over in 1883, and in 1881 Tuborg Fabrikers Glasværk was bought, which was named Hellerup Glasværk. In the meantime, the count had disposed of the works in 1873. From 1907, the glass works were run in close collaboration with A/S De forenede Glasværker, Odense, and A/S Frederiksberg Glasværk, whose shares it took over. Under A/S De forenenede Glasværker belonged Fyns Glasværk, Odense, (founded 11 June 1874) and until 1907 Aarhus Glasværk, Århus, (founded 1898), which was then taken over by A/S Kastrup Glasværk. In 1918, the share capital in the glassworks in Aalborg was also acquired (founded in 1853 by chamberlain August Theodor Schütte, transferred to a limited company in 1905). In addition to Kastrup Glasværk, the company operated the following works: Hellerup Glasværk, De forenenede Glasværker i Odense and Aarhus Glasværk. In 1892, the company had a large headquarters built at Nørre Voldgade 12 in Copenhagen by architect Philip Smidth. The building still bears the company's name. The factory first had a large production of mouth-blown bottles, which were mechanized in 1912. Since then, mouth-blown drinking glasses, glassware, pocket larks, cheese bells...

Maximalist 'Flying Saucer' Coffee Table in Recycled Plastics
By Duffy London
Located in London, GB
Ever playful, innovative design studio Duffy London exclusively unveils its latest conversational art-as-furniture piece, the retro-candy inspired Flying Saucer coffee table, brought to life using 100% recycled plastics in a series of pop colour finishes. Be transported back into the sweet shop as a child, surrounded by large glass jars overflowing with bright-coloured gobstoppers, love-hearts, flying saucers, licorice all-sorts, and marshmallows. The Flying Saucer table embraces nostalgia and unapologetically combines vibrant pop colours and patterns in a true maximalist fashion. An eye-catching, evocative design that refuses to follow convention and serves as a constant reminder to live one’s life to the fullest – to go bigger, go bolder, to be adventurous, and not to take life too seriously. Following on from Duffy’s first foray 3D printed sand furniture...

Educated at the Accademia di Brera in Milan, he has since worked in both London and Paris. His art is influenced by Pop Art. Adami was born in Bologna. In 1945, at the age of ten, he began to study painting under the instruction of Felice Carena. He was accepted into the Brera Academy (Accademia di Brera) in 1951, and there studied as a draughtsman until 1954 in the studio of Achille Funi. In 1955 he went to Paris, where he met and was influenced by Roberto Matta and Wifredo Lam. His first solo exhibition came in 1959 in Milan. In his early career, Adami's works were expressionistic, but by the time of his second exhibition in 1964 at Kassel, he had developed a style of painting reminiscent of French Cloisonnism, featuring regions of flat color bordered by black lines. Unlike Gauguin, however, Adami's subjects were highly stylized and often presented in fragments, as seen in Telescoping Rooms (1965). In the 1970s, Adami began to address politics in his art, and incorporated subject matter such as modern European history, literature, philosophy, and mythology. In 1971, he and his brother Giancarlo created the film Vacances dans le désert. In 1974 he illustrated a Helmut Heissenbuttel poem, Occasional Poem No. 27. Ten Lessons on the Reich with ten original lithographs {Gallerie Maeght...
