Made up in transparent amber glass with the upper rim accented by a stripe made up from blue pate d verre.
Soffiato
Glassblowing or Soffiato in Italian, is a glass forming technique that involves inflating molten glass into a bubble with the aid of a blowpipe. A person who blows glass is called a glassblower, glassmith, or gaffer. The word come from soffietta, a tool used as a puffer to further inflate a vessel after it has been removed from the blowpipe and is attached to the pontil. It consists of a curved metal tube attached to a conical nozzle. The glassblower reheats the vessel, inserts the nozzle into its mouth so that the aperture is blocked, and then inflates the vessel by blowing through the tube.

Fitted with a mirror and a place to storage a 5 cents nickel coin. Decorated at both sides with engine turned guilloche decoration topped with applications of translucent vivid blue enamel.

An extraordinary round compact box, created in the city of Pforzheim Germany during the art deco period, back in the late 1920's. This superb elegant round box is closely to mint condition, is very rare and was carefully crafted at the Louis Kuppenheim workshop in solid .935/.999 silver, with gilt interiors and a mirror. Exceptional workmanship as you expect of the workshop of Louis Kuppenheim, with remarkable enameled patterns of peacocks feathers on both faces. Embellished around with white enamel frames and the borders with incised and carved panels with flowers.

The company was grounded in 1854 by Louis Kuppenheim (1824-1889) and Heinrich Witzenmann, specialized in silver and gold and enameled artefacts. On the World Exhibition in 1900 the firm received a gold medal for a letter opener. In that same year the company opened a branch in the Rue Richelieu 67 in Paris. In these years some designs by Hans Christiansen were executed, amongst them very delicately enameled silver cigarette cases. The enamels on the several silver and gold pieces was of very high standard, and sometimes even gems like rubies were applied. A note about the artist: "Raymond Phillips Sanderson (1908–1987) was an American artist and sculptor. Sanderson was born in Bowling Green, Missouri and educated at the Art Institute of Chicago under Raoul Josset. He moved to Bisbee, Arizona for his health in 1932, where he worked as an illustrator and sign painter. His first major commission was the Miner's Monument at the Cochise County Courthouse in Bisbee, popularly known as the Copper Man, as well as some reliefs in the interior of the courthouse. He moved to Phoenix in 1937 to teach at the Phoenix Art Center under sponsorship by the Works Progress Administration. In 1939 he was commissioned by industrialist Rufus Riddlesbarger to outfit and decorate his new house at Riddlesbarger's Lanteen Ranch near Sierra Vista.
