André Kulesza Architect. Unique Light Table, Wrought Iron, Glass Crystals 1960s
Located in leucate, FR
Exceptional light coffee table by the architect André Kulesza, hammered wrought iron and polychrome stained glass crystals.
The fragments of glass crystals have been carefully selected and combined harmoniously to represent an abstract design.
The glass crystals are fixed on reinforced glass and protected by a window which acts as a table top.
the base is reminiscent of a spider, the 4 feet merge in the center and under the glass crystals to support the light diffuser.
Incredible work of art.
The architect André Kulesza (1913 - 2012) known as the Polish Le Corbusier, carried out this unique production in parallel with the construction of the Polish church in Lens (city in the north of France) of which he was the architect, to commemorate the thousand
years of Christianity in Poland.
This table is like a masterpiece.
Height: 18.11 inch / 46 cm
Width: 24.21 inch / 61.5 cm
Length: 24.21 inch / 61.5 cm
Good condition.
circa 1966
The passionate life of André Kulesza, patriot and architect.
André Olgierd Kulesza passed away in February 2012, at the age of 89. If the name of this Valdericourtian doesn't mean anything to you, his architectural achievements are certainly not unknown, mainly in the north of France.
The town center of Noyelles-lès-Vermelles, buildings in Noeux-les-Mines, the Ephad (accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people) in Sailly-Labourse or Violaines, the Millenium church in Lens and many more Other achievements in France and around the world have marked the career of this Polish immigrant whose destiny was shaken by History.
It must be said that André O. Kulesza already had unusual parents. His mother, from the Polish nobility having lost part of her family massacred by the Bolsheviks in 1917 and taking refuge with her aunt in Poznan, attended Paderewski,
Marie Curie and became a painter; in 1919, speaking excellent French, she worked for the French military mission in Warsaw and a young captain named Charles De Gaulle. Later, she would be a member of the Polish Resistance...

Pair of Antique 1920s Arts & Crafts Hanging Lanterns in Metal and Handmade Glass
Located in COLMAR, FR
A rare set of two matching antique lanterns (pendant lamps). The lanterns have no maker's markings but most likely dates from the early 1900s. Their design is strongly inspired by the Arts and Crafts mouvement (1880-1920). The lanterns have been sourced in Northeastern France.
These antique lanterns are made to be suspended. The structure of the lanterns is made of metal, most likely a copper alloy. The inside is made of slightly amber colored/smokey glass that has been mouth blown into the wrought metal frame in one single piece. When lightened, the light does not only shine through the body of the lantern but also through the small, circular glass sections on the top and on the bottom of the lantern.
The lanterns are sold unwired. There is a hole on the top of each lantern for easy wiring, i.e. fit for a wire with a light socket. They can thus easily be adapted to any voltage (see photo). The lanterns are sold without lighting chains...

Khabia Freckles Terracotta Jar Made of Clay, Handcrafted by the Potter Raja
Located in Marseille, FR
- Handbuilt freckles terracotta jar
- made of clay collected from the potter's surroundings.
- made in the Moroccan Rif mountains by the potter Raja.
Approximate measurements: 13.4 x 11.4 x 15.8 in // 34 x 29 x 40 cm; weight 22.5 lb // 10.2 kg
Handmade: Variation is to be expected, each piece differs in color, size, shape and decorations due to its handmade nature and natural pigments. Memòri is about simplicity, imperfections, and embracing the "flaws".
Each piece is fired in an open fire - a dug hole during more than 12 hours, which makes unexpected and surprising results, including smoke marks on some pieces. This means that each piece is one of a kind and cannot be duplicated.
Care instructions: The ceramics are not glazed. We advise you to keep it as a decorative object if you want to conserve the original aspect.
About the savoir-faire, the modeled pottery
The potters of northern Morocco perpetuate the ancient art of modeled pottery, which first appeared around 6,000 BC. The techniques and patterns used today are very close to those of their origins. This ancestral know-how, which has disappeared around the Mediterranean, still lives in the pre-Rif. Today, these potters are the guardians of this ancient art. The modeled pottery according to the ancestral art...
