An affectionate greeting letter written with a rapid calligraphy written by the artist had just return to Italy with the first symptoms of an illness will lead to his death. The artist demands to his friend and Italian gallerist, Gaetano Chiurazzi (Naples,1899- Rome,1967), best-known as "Tanino", to lead him his oil on canval “Le Foglie”, exhibited at his popular gallery, “Le Vetrine di Chiurazzi”, in Via del Babbuino, Rome.
De Pisis is today best-known for his cityscapes, metaphysically-inspired maritime scenes, and still lifes, especially those depicting flowers. His work has a particularly airy quality, and is laden with a sort of pathetic pleasure. This letter demonstrates how de Pisis spent his life: between Rome, Paris and Venice, living a very extravagant lifestyle; he had a pet parrot named Coco, and in Venice he was one of a handful of residents at the time who used a gondola. He had two personal gondoliers on 24-hour duty, who wore black-and-gold livery.

Hugo Steiner-Prag (Prague, 1880 - New York, 1945); he was an artist and illustrator. In his adolescence, he took private art lessons and was a member of Jung Prag, a group of young artists fascinated by mysticism. His formal artistic career began at age seventeen when he enrolled at the Prague Academy of the Arts, Prager Kunstakadmie, in 1897. He continued his education in Munich, Germany at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Königliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste. It was here Steiner added “Prag'' to his last name in recognition of his home city and to help distinguish his name from other artists. The Leo Baeck Institute has a vast collection of Steiner-Prag’s illustrations and personal mementos from throughout his entire career. Viewers can appreciate his beautifully drawn city scenes and mythical creatures, photographs, set designs, artistic instruments, and certificates of achievement. Giulio Aristide Sartorio (11 February 1860 – 3 October 1932) was an Italian painter and film director from Rome. Having attended the Rome Institute of Fine Arts, Sartorio presented a Symbolist work at the 1883 International Exposition of Rome. He formed friendships with Nino Costa and Gabriele D’Annunzio, and associated with the painters and photographers of the Roman countryside. He won a gold medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1889 and met the Pre-Raphaelites in England in 1893. His participation in the Venice Biennale began in 1895 with the 1st International Exposition of Art of Venice, after which he taught at the Weimar Academy of Fine Arts from 1896 to 1898.
