Birds of Europe by John and Elisabeth Goult, 1832
By John Gould and Elizabeth Gould
Located in Paris, FR

The price includes the set of 6 framed ones.
John Gould (18041881) is the most prolific publisher of ornithological subjects of all time. In 19th-century Europe, his name was as well known as Audubons was in North America. Unlike Audubon, whose lifes work focused on one region, Gould traveled widely and employed other artists to help create his lavish, hand-colored lithographic folios. John Goulds love of natural history was fostered in the gardens of King George III where his father was chief gardener at Windsor Castle. Although trained as a gardener, Goulds interests quickly evolved, and at the age of 20, he was appointed taxidermist to the Zoological Society of London. After three years, he progressed to the position of curator of birds and chief taxidermist. In 1830, newly married, Gould and his artist wife, Elizabeth Gould...

Antique Iberian (Georgian) Emerald and Diamond Navette Shaped Ring 19th Century
Located in OVIEDO, AS
Antique Emerald and Diamond Navette Shaped Ring 19th Century..
Georgian rings are rare and usually experience a few subtle makeovers as they journey through time. In this one, a central emerald weighing approx. 0.40 carats surrounded by 17 rose-cut diamonds are enwrapped--and enhanced--by darkened silver over gold weighing in total 1.40 carats, all the stones back foiled. This striking mix contrasts beautifully with its subtly decorated, brightly yellow gold ring shank in 18 Karat Gold (the 18K ring shank was replaced at a later date), in order to protect the original Antique central Navette Iberian (Georgian) Ring,
Total weight: 12.70 grams.
Measures; Width 20mm X Length 24mm (USA 0.79 X 0.94inches)
Ring Size 57 (USA 8))
Most rings can be sized up or down one size unless noted and sometimes can be sized more.
