Time is a Construct 2765

“Time is a Construct” is a series of moving images as well as images moving. All images and movies are about experiencing the 4th dimension or becoming aware of it. In the 4th dimension viz, time is not part of the equation. Time does not exist and therefore past present and future are one infinite dimension. This explosion of time, or cummulation of time gives the 3rd dimension its 4th and quite mind boggling dimension. All images and movies are playing with you in third dimensional time. The static pictures show a moving object and the movies show an almost static object. Every time you look at the moving images you try to make a static image of what you see and vice versa it seems the static photographs are moving. This makes the two mediums affecting each other in an ongoing simbiotic manner. The fact that parts of what you see are semi-transparant and you seem to look through the object and at the same time around the object, is in a way revealing to the public what it would be like if you actually are in the 4th dimension. Using abstraction for his work, the artist wants people to wonder what they see. By not understanding what they see, the viewer has to watch on a different level. “Time is a Construct” is not about understanding, but about experiencing.

Bruno van Hooijdonk

Buro Bruno is a design firm, started by Bruno van Hooijdonk in 1998, uncompromising and scouring onto the outskirts of art and design. Bruno transforms the flat into spatial design. More important is the transition from one dimension to another and not so much the end result. He actually puts the flat shape (or parts of it) into motion, until it is what it should be. Due to the dynamics of the process, the movement in the design continues to exist and creates an unambiguous and non-static end product.
