You'll be the death of me (November in Mexico)
Inspired by the Día de Muertos, with a touch of Switzerland (Basel), the artwork wants to convey how life and death, joy and the grotesque, are always interconnected.
For me, Art is an endless journey, towards places freed by the artist who generated them.
My journey as an artist starts with static and one-dimensional shapes designed on flat and silent surfaces. Then, the magic happens: a wave of bright colors breaks the silence and grants movement, bestows life.
I believe my paintings are open to more than one interpretation, their meaning is not obvious, I would dare to say rather ambiguous.
The multiplicity of colors conveys joy, liveliness, but also confusion and restlessness. Only those who have the patience to continue observing the scene will be able to go beyond the first impressions and find a multitude of meanings.
