Drawing upon traditional still & cinematic methods, Gisel uses a digital 4×5 exploring paths of light that have not yet been developed, highlighting the space between the shutter and time within capture. Intersecting instinct and technical capabilities she is capturing upon earthly circadian rhythms within a sea of algorithmic influence. Based in NY & Williamsburg Brooklyn she is founder of OFF/ON, ICE CREAM GALLERY co-founder WOCA (Women of Crypto Art) Art advisor to TheVerseVerse. Gisel leads artistic community initiatives & explores new paths towards autonomy for creatives.
Photographic Expressionism
This collection of expressionistic photographs are a mixing of the light found in Times Square NYC. The generative quality of motion aligned with a fluid photographic capture process, have revealed to me visual understandings for the nature of light. The patterning, balance & weight of each line or tick discovered have their essence & rhythms to their interactions. The energies separated as these visual aspects, can orchestrate an emotion or reflect within themselves, poignant aspects of the collective environment.
