Amagansett House

Meyer Davis joined forces with interior designer David Netto on the renovation of this idiosyncratic 1980s house in the Hamptons. Acres of sheetrock were replaced with horizontal paneling, and an loftlike master suite incorporates both sleeping and bathing areas in an open plan. In the main living area, a central structural pole supports the six-sided ceiling as if it were a tent, with two walls devoted to cooking, a central dining area, and a lounge by a freestanding stucco fireplace that is set in front of a breathtakingly large plate-glass window.
