Condo DC in Mexico City

Apartment by Mueblería Standard in Mexico City, MX

This young couple wanted a very sophisticated social area to entertain, as well as a place where their family could live every day.

Since the wife is a celebrity, she does many photo shoots in her house so it needed to be a flexible space that photographed very well, a place to do formal events (up to 100) but also a “home” for her family.

We started with a blank canvas and designed the open layout of the apartment with two seating areas, a formal dining room, a grand piano, and a smaller every day breakfast area.

To achieve the look they wanted, we used a color pallet of black, white and beige. The floor is wooden black marble and the staircase wall is limestone.

Under this floating staircase there is a reflecting pool and next to it is the Grand Piano.

One of the two seating areas is more formal with silk sofas. The other one is where they can relax in a leather sectional. In this area we installed a mirrored TV with a leather frame.

The walls in the entrance area are covered with black glass as a background for a steel sculpture by Aldo Chaparro (one of the most renowned Latin American artist).

On the double height wall, we hung a big painting done over newspaper.

Automation is a very important element in this design. Since it is such a multipurpose room, they needed different scene for every aspect of their life.
