Apartment by InSpace NY Design in New York, NY

InSpace NY designed the interiors with panels of ombre sheer drapes from Scalamandre to diffuse the natural light flooding into the living room from the floor to ceiling interlocking planes of glass creating a sense of drama in this stylish room. A Mid-Century modern two-piece sectional by Paul McCobb has been reworked in Maharam’s Mode upholstery positioned beside a Harvey Probber two piece tufted caramel leather chaise from the same period creating a relaxed but yet elegant seating area. Color transpires into the generally muted space through the bright over sized art by Judith Lindner, which adorns the main wall with a palette of warm reds, pinks, and oranges together with various blue and turquoise tones creating an attractive playful juxtapositions of form and color. By the same token a curated collection of objects with their bold colors, graphic forms and polished structures, provide a vibrant compilation of highly idiosyncratic elements. The dining area, as defined by a contemporary oval marble topped table is paired with a set of vintage black and white Paul McCobb for Calvin sculptural dining chairs. The contrast between the black frame of the chairs against the cream upholstery and light marble table top create an interesting dynamic that makes a refined and sophisticated statement. Delicate handcrafted clear contemporary glassware designed by Felicia Ferrone, definitely one of Ana's favorite objet d'art, elevates the otherwise formal table setting. A modern interpretation on cut-glass, the collection inverts tradition with intricate detail on the interior of the glass. Minimal in form, yet modern in design, an innovative approach to the reoccurring theme of contrasts.
