New Jersey House

The decoration of a spacious Victorian era house in Short Hills, New Jersey, for a young family with a growing collection of contemporary art. With its high ceilings and light filled rooms, the house has an unconventionally loft-like open floor plan. Colors, patterns, and furniture styles were strategically selected to visually knit the rooms together while still preserving their individual characters. A mix of custom contemporary furnishings and shapely 19th and 20th century pieces creates a studied eclectic backdrop for the owners’ artworks. Photos by George Ross.
