About the Item

"The poor little bridesmaid ... in her pink cotton gown ... though doubtless, there never was such a pretty girl." A kitchen scene is depicted with a young bridesmaid admiring her fetching reflection in a pot cover while fantasizing about a handsome Prince. This was one of several interior illustrations that Hope Dunlap did for the "The Little Lame Prince," which was a story for children written by Dinah Maria Mulock Craik ("Miss Mulock") and first published in 1875. The Little Lame Prince and His Travelling Cloak" This edition was, 1909, by Rand-McNally & Company Signed lower left. Framed size: 28 x 16 x 1 Framed under glass.
