About the Item
This mixed media piece features a very warm color palette. Olive green, a vibrant Alizarin crimson, and a beautiful white highlight that brings the sections of the piece together. The black lines have a hard, cubic quality to them that references structure and stability. The artist scratches the surfaces of the pictorial space to add texture. This piece is sold unframed with the artist's signature on the front.
Since arriving in New York City from Cuba in the mid 1990’s, Alexis Mendoza has carved a path as a painter, art writer, and independent curator. He trained as a conservator and graduated from college in Havana. He exhibits in museums and galleries worldwide.
