About the Item
Monica DeSalvo’s “Zigzag” is a diptych with two 4.25 x 6 inch stacked abstract collages on paper. Green lettuce, ivory and tan eggs, and whimsical white markings dance over blurred fields of red, maroon, and magenta created with a Gelli plate. The surreal composition’s circular motion supports images that suggest life, growth, and nourishment. The work is framed in a 20 x 16 x 1.25 inch black metal float frame with a white double window acid free mat and glass. The signature is on the back of each print.
Monica DeSalvo is a Boston-based mixed-media artist and designer. She received her BFA in Visual Design from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Her work has been shown in many shows both juried and invitational and is a part of collections across the US and Europe. She is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston.
