About the Item
This abstract mixed media piece depicts an incredible array of imagery and figures that are based on the visuals of a dream. Bright yellows, reds, blues and oranges blend together throughout the piece with the use of stippling and expressive marks. On the pictorial space are three figures and one horse-like creature that fill the page. The style of these figure evokes some of the imagery used in ancient cave drawings, with simplified features and symbolic in style. The title and artist signature are on the front of this piece, as well as the back. This piece is being sold in a beautifully distressed golden frame with a deep green mat.
Terry McMaster grew up in Central New York, received a BA in Anthropology from SUNY Oswego, and attended Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute School of Art. He has both a Masters in Library Science and Social Work. For the last 30 years, he has been practicing Jungian-based depth psychology and creating painted and digital imagery. His photographs often look like paintings, and his paintings look like dreams. McMaster has taught expressive arts to help people suffering from mental illness and addictions.
