Alberto Garutti (Galbiate, LC, 1948 - Milano, 2023), artista e docente, ha partecipato
a manifestazioni internazionali quali la Biennale di Venezia, la Biennale di Istanbul, Arte all’Arte nel 2000 e nel 2005 e la Memory Marathon presso la Serpentine Gallery di Londra nel 2012. Protagonista di varie personali in spazi privati, Garutti ha esposto in molte gallerie in Italia e all’estero tra le quali Galleria Paul Maenz a Colonia, Galleria Minini a Brescia, Magazzino d’Arte Moderna a Roma, Studio Guenzani a Milano, Galleria Marconi a Milano, Buchmann Galerie a Lugano e Berlino, Galleria Massimo De Carlo a Milano.
La sua ricerca di un dialogo aperto tra opera d’arte contemporanea, spettatore e spazio pubblico, gli è valsa l’invito a realizzare lavori per città e musei di tutto il mondo.
Tra le opere più conosciute: Tra le opere più conosciute: "Ai nati oggi" per le città di Bergamo, Gand, Istanbul e Mosca, Piccolo Museion a Bolzano, "Dedicato agli abitanti delle case" per il 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art di Kanazawa (Giappone), l’opera per la Fondazione Zegna a Trivero, "Tutti i passi" installata ad Anversa, negli spazi dell’Aeroporto di Malpensa, alla Stazione Cadorna di Milano e in piazza Santa Maria Novella a Firenze e l’opera commissionata da Hines Italia per il quartiere di Porta Nuova a Milano. In occasione della mostra personale al Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea di Milano del 2012 curata da Paola Nicolin e Hans Ulrich Obrist è stato pubblicato il libro Alberto Garutti – Didascalia/Caption.
