Gary John has been a street artist since 1985. Originally from Seattle, Washington, he moved to Venice Beach, Los Angeles in 2003 and began selling on the Venice boardwalk. After almost 10 years on the boardwalk and experiencing “a bout with homelessness,” he was discovered and his artistic career took off with great success. He references this success in every artwork he makes. Along the left side of the artwork he paints a series of circles joined together by an arrow pointing up. Each circle represents a stepping stone on the path of success that keeps growing to greater heights. On the right side he depicts a line of houses, expressing the joy he finds in the stability of a home.
His street artworks have a whimsical yet exciting and bold quality, inspired by classic cartoon and comic book characters rendered with acrylic paint in a bold graffiti style, on newspaper, board or other media. His choice of newspapers reflects the diversity of his Los Angeles surroundings, including Korean language newspapers, which have become equally collected as his artworks on English language newspapers.

Danny Brown is a first-generation American urban artist born in Los Angeles. His parents relocated their family from Oaxaca, Mexico in search of opportunities in the United States. Brown uses his interest in fashion as well as his knowledge of color, design, and culture as inspiration for his paintings. The loss of friends to violence and incarceration, combined with the loss of a family member to gang violence pushed Brown to use art as a source of therapy and to project a positive inspiring image for his community.
Brown’s art coalesces youth culture, art history, fashion, and American consumerism and melds them all to create his unique style. Domingo grew up in Palma de Mallorca in Spain, where his mother was a painter and his father painted cars. Surrounded by “paint and fumes”, he explored his heritage and learnt about artists like Diego Velázquez, Francisco Goya, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí. His art studies in London and subsequent political science degree took him to Wall Street, New York, in 1999, before he embarked on a career in the music industry and wrote lyrics for Michael Jackson. He was hugely influenced by pop culture and the aesthetics of Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Created in oil and acrylic, Domingo’s works incorporate mixed media, collage and graffiti. His poetic imagination is visualised through layers of text and visual cues including symbols and iconic brands and figures. Ryan Humphrey (born 1971) is an American artist who currently lives and works in New York City.

Ryan Humphrey grew up in a small town in Ohio building things in his yard, riding BMX bikes and skateboarding. He then moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the next three years to work at The Carnegie Museum of Art and obtain a commercial art degree where he developed an interest in contemporary fine art. This inspired him (along with a scholarship) to attend Ohio University where he earned his BFA in Sculpture. After moving to New York City he received his MFA from Hunter College, paying his way through school by working at The Dia Center for the Arts. After attending The Skowhegan summer residency program in Maine he worked for The Andy Warhol Foundation and participated in the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program. He has exhibited extensively. He currently lives and works in New York City. His work has been featured in the traveling exhibition Will Boys Be Boys? Questioning Adolescent Masculinity in Contemporary Art :Photograph, video, painting and sculpture curated by Shamim Momin of the Whitney Museum of American Art. His large-scale installation, titled Fast Forward (2009), included BMX ramps adjacent to a wall-to-ceiling assemblage tapestry, collection of trophies and customized BMX bikes, and he continued this theme in his installation Look for the dream that keeps coming back (2010) at Kunsthalle Galapagos. Humphrey expresses his growing up in BMX and skateboard culture through his art. The assemblage also included several paintings, created by the artist for the exhibition, and several sculptures of BMX bike wheels. The paintings were small drips that recall the works of Jackson Pollock, and the BMX sculptures are similar to Marcel Duchamp's Bicycle Wheel. The installation included an opening night performance by legendary BMX pro Dizz Hicks and Ryan Humphrey on the ramps. An edition of 20 silkscreen posters was made by the artist, and signed by himself and Dizz Hicks, to commemorate the event.
