Alessio Mariotto
Television landscape - Contemporary Color Field Acrylic Painting

2024

About the Item

Television landscape 23.62 x 31.49 x 0.8, 8.8 lbs Acrylic on canvas Hand signed by artist Artist's Commentary: "This artwork takes up the idea of Rothko's color fields revisited by me with the addition of a naturalistic abstract vision. The title 'Television landscape' describes what you see, in fact the large clear central part could be interpreted as a screen or a sky, the part of the perimeter becomes the structure of the television or a horizon as shown by the jagged limit below. The interpretation is then up to the viewer to decide what to see. This acrylic and oil pastel on canvas is suitable for those who want to embrace modern design, the colors are low-toned so as not to create misleading chromatic effects, but to leave maximum cognitive freedom to observation." About the Artist: Alessio has been drawing and painting since the age of 10, then he graduated from the Martini Art Institute and attended the Academy in Florence. He works in the advertising field (Leodari advertising) and in the logistics sector (SMIPA). He paints at night and in his free time, until all this is no longer enough and he begins a journey fully dedicated to painting. ARTISTIC FEATURES Alessio's work is focused on the abstract vision of reality. His art is an interpretation of nature and the perception of it filtered by his mind. His way of representing the world is meditative and conceptual. Alessio finds inspiration from the minimalism and abstract expressionism of the New York School, such as Rothko or Pollock but also by Basquiat and Kline. His paintings are often a purification of the original image, created to inspire the observer to think and ask questions about what he sees through his critical sense.Everything is created by him in an analogical way , with discreet colors, and with taste, without excesses or strong tones. Brushes, spatulas, rags and with the help of various materials (including construction) are the tools to make his work possible

The Peach Blossom Spring, Original Abstract Painting on Canvas
By Novi Lim
Located in Boston, MA
Artist commentary: I like to transport my mind to a calming place, inspired by memories, and complex organic elements found in nature. Playing with colors and movement, creating new compositions -- my best work comes when there is freedom to create without any strict plan. With intuition and spontaneity taking over, the result is often a surprise. To me, everything flows, and there is always a sense of balance and harmony that can emerge out of disorder. I love the ambiguous and mysterious nature of abstraction. Through self-discovery and experimentation, I am allowing dynamic energy that manifests through the joy of creating. The result is loose interpretations of anything that exists between the mind and reality, therefore each painting is unique and sometimes inexplicable. About the Artist: Ethereal and calming, Novi Lim's painting transports its audience to a land that is both dreamlike yet familiar. Lim Finds inspiration in the natural world, and seeks to capture their essence through an organic and sensory creative process. In the artist's own words: "Often, imagining a mythical flower that blooms and lit up in the nighttime or seeing something as simple as the calming gradient of the colorful sky at sundown, or the surface of water that glimmers which makes me wonder about the mystery of the deepest oceans -- piqued my creative process and subliminal stimuli." Guided by instinctive feeling, Lim lets the movements of her paintbrush flow as she experiments with atmospheric lighting, transparency, and color. The result is an ambiguous landscape that treads between the subconscious and waking world.
