About the Item
The luminous, elegantly colourful paintings of Alice Teichert have garnered her an international audience. Known for her refined sense of colour, and her contemporary form, Teichert’s paintings—layer upon layer of acrylic—sometimes phosphorescent paint and will actually glow. With this piece the passages of colour flow across the canvas —melon, deep pink, purple and lemon yellow bordered by turquoise.

Alice Teichert was born in Paris, France in 1959. She studied music, philosophy and visual arts in Belgium and France. Since 1989, she has built an international career with over 30 solo exhibitions in Germany, France, NY, Canada, Switzerland and Australia. Teichert’s paintings are held in many private, corporate and public collections worldwide.

Alice Teichert
(b.1959, Paris, FR) Multidisciplinary artist Alice Teichert is known for her use of bold colours and layered transparencies interspersed with script like line drawings. Teichert studied music, philosophy and visual arts in Belgium and France. Since 1989, she has built an international career with over 30 solo exhibitions in Germany, France, NY, Canada, Switzerland and Australia. Teichert’s paintings are held in many private, corporate and public collections including the MacLaren Art Centre, Global Affairs Canada, and the Musée de la Ville de Valence, France. An English-German edition of a monograph by Dagmar Täube, titled In)Formation - On the Philosophy and Art of Alice Teichert has recently been published by Hirmer Publishers, Münich, Germany
