Alice Teichert
Just To Know - vivid, colorful, lyrical, gestural abstract, acrylic on canvas

2009

About the Item

Enigmatic shapes and calligraphic lines dance across a flood of lime and emerald green, rimmed in violet, bronze, pink and orange in this horizontal mixed-media painting. The artist works with thin layers of acrylic gel and pigment to produce a shimmering jewel-like surface interspersed with gestural and musical notations which she refers to as visual poetry: "Over the course of creating these paintings, a visual notation slowly unfolds into its own form of resonance like ripples of language dancing in space, water and time." - Alice Teichert Multidisciplinary artist Alice Teichert studied music, philosophy, and visual arts in Belgium and France. Since 1989, she has built an international career with over 30 solo exhibitions in Germany, France, NY, Canada, Switzerland and Australia. Teichert’s paintings are held in many private, corporate and public collections including the MacLaren Art Centre, Global Affairs Canada, and the Musée de la Ville de Valence, France.
