Amleto Bertrand (1927-2010). Nudes in a Landscape, ca. 1960, 15 x 18 inches; 16 x 19 inches framed. Signed lower left. HAMLET BERTRAND, Was born in Messina on 1 'October 1927 by Stefano Bertrand, of Naples and Cristina Caliò of Syracuse. Grandfather Vincent was born in Naples, descended from the French branch of Henry Gratien Bertrand, Grand Marshal of the Palace and right arm of Napoleon Bonaparte, and the author of several books, including 'The Egyptian Campaign Napoleon' and 'Napoleon at Sant 'Elena', in which he described the exile of Napoleon until his death in 1821.
