BIOGRAFIA DEL ARTISTA:
Antoni Xaus, uno de los artistas más transgresores e innovadores de la plástica catalana de finales del siglo XX, fue un pintor abstracto y artista visual español. Se formó en la Escuela de la Lonja de Barcelona y, posteriormente, en París dónde coincidió con Saura, Chillida y Tàpies, entre otros. Sus obras se caracterizan por el choque de los colores primarios. Obtuvo fama internacional a partir de 1993 cuando tuvo lugar el hito más conocido de toda su trayectoria artística; la realización de una performance y la elaboración de un manifiesto durante el centenario del Modernismo. Se alojó en la habitación 105 del hotel Estela de Sitges por tres días, dónde llevó a cabo la performance que consistió en pintar toda la habitación sin consentimiento alguno del hotel y la posterior elaboración del manifiesto a modo de protesta por la actitud conformista del arte en aquel entonces, pretendía recuperar el espíritu del modernismo repudiando la falta de sensibilidad.
