The Prismatic Series is based on light, movement and color, abstract paintings expressing the changing qualities of the external world, without any limitations of form. Prismatic Series #2 is painted with many layers of oil glazes over acrylic washes to create luminous color. On gallery wrapped canvas. Linda Jacobson's paintings are lyrical abstractions inspired by her love of landscape and its elements: form, movement, light, and what she perceives to be its essence an energy or quality that goes beyond visual appearance. Born in Los Angeles, she received her BFA from California State College, Northridge, and graduated Summa cum Laude from the prestigious Art Center College of Design where she was mentored by pioneer California modernist Lorser Feitelson. Image, 24"H x 24"W x .5"D Nancy B Westfall (American, b. 1970) began studying at the age of 14 with renowned Hungarian artist Magda Mader, who focused on perspective, discipline, and respect of materials. Westfall continued her art studies through college, earning a Bachelor’s of Fine Art from the University of Georgia in 1993. Her studies took her abroad to Cortona Italy and introduced her to color theory, which has since greatly infuenced her use and application of color. Following her undergraduate years, Westfall apprenticed with several professional artists, until returning to graduate school to pursue a Masters of Art from East Carolina University in 1996.
