About the Item
The Canadian landscape—that inspires the fun and fresh compositions of Aron Hill, a Calgary-based artist. A new series of acrylic on paper features their characteristic graphic form and inspired bright colour palette. In this piece rounded shapes are layered from the bottom of the canvas ascending in colour from red to pink to bright yellow. Striking organic-grass-like forms appear at the base in black and white.
“The sun is a central element of my work. It serves as the guiding light to the layers of experience translated onto canvas.” Aron Hill
They obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and their MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. They have exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. Hill’s work is held in private and corporate collections.
