About the Item
In each of these pieces is a blue circle in the center, with rectangles in two, over a silver metallic background. The blues used in each of these is very nuanced in how it is applied to the canvas that brings out the unique texture of the works. The texture in these pieces mimics that of stone and creates a similar feeling to ancient paintings. This piece is sold with the frame and artists signature on the back of each individual canvas.
Cathryn Buckley Arcomano was born in Troy, NY, in 1923. In 1946, Cathryn Buckley graduated from the College of St.Rose in Albany; and began formal art studies through a St. Rose program at the University of Mexico in Mexico City. She returned to NY, and continued her art studies at The New School Art Workshops in NYC. Buckley Arcomano became an international artist, exhibiting in the USA and in England, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Hong Kong. Her paintings have been acquired by museums, corporations, and private collections, including The Brooklyn Museum, The Newark Museum, the Everson Museum of Art, the Gannett Company, Nordstrom, Pfizer, and Skadden Arps Law. She died in 2012.
