The work of veteran New York abstractionist Francine Tint was championed by uber-critic Clement Greenberg late in his career, and early in hers.
Tint’s work explores the realms of Abstract Expressionism and Color Field painting promoted by Greenberg, but like her friend and likeminded artist-colleague Larry Poons, Tint has followed an improvised, idiosyncratic path. She has struggled against the kind of doctrinaire formalism to which artists associated with Greenberg have often been tethered.
For the past several decades, she has produced large-scale gestural paintings with brilliant color and rich impasto. [...] Although she favors a forceful and sometimes-aggressive attack on the canvas, the aim is toward a kind of Zen perfection and calm in the end.

Francine Tint
Francine Tint is a New York-based abstract expressionist painter. She studied painting at Pratt Institute as well as the Brooklyn Museum College. Art In America describes Tint’s work as “an act both visual and cerebral, with a signature brushstroke that is at once explosively enigmatic and pensive.” At an exhibition in Tampa, her painting Fish Net is displayed between pieces by Frankenthaler and DeKooning. Tint’s work has been exhibited in over thirty solo shows in the United States and Europe and is in the permanent collections of 27 museums, including the Clement Greenberg collection at the Portland Art Museum and the Krannert Art Museum in Chicago. Her work is in private and corporate collections, including PepsiCo. and Mount Sinai Hospital. Tint currently has a traveling solo exhibition of 30 paintings in 4 museums and universities in the USA.

Malgosia Kiernozycka was born in Wroclaw, Poland. She graduated high school at the School of Fine Arts and received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art for the University of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. She studied glass design under Prof Witkowski and painting under Prof Wanda Golkowska. She received her master’s degree along with an award.
