About the Item

Mossy 24.0 x 24.0 x 1.5, 5.0 lbs Acrylic on fabric Hand signed by artist Artist's Commentary: "This is an original painting, 24"x24" acrylic and fabric on 2" deep cradled panel. The sides of this piece are wood that's been sanded and finished, so the piece can be hung without a frame. 'Mossy' has a lot of texture, as I built up many layers of medium underneath. These layers add a history and richness to the surface. The nebulous forms in rich green and teals are offset by neutral tones and geometric patterns." About the Artist: San Francisco-based artist Heather Robinson creates colorful paintings that explore pattern and texture. Her work focuses on the interplay of order and spontaneity; she interweaves patterned elements with loose and unplanned marks. Robinson studied environmental design at Texas A&M University and architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which gave her a passion for structure as well as a fascination with how people choose to decorate the spaces around them. She has exhibited widely throughout the United States in California, Washington, New Mexico, Illinois, Ohio, Kansas, and New York. Her work is held in private collections in the US, Australia, Italy, and France. In addition to her creative practice, she's a professionally-trained baker and enjoys traveling, studying foreign languages, and collecting loud vintage neckties.

Study in Green, Original Contemporary Abstract Expressionist Painting
Located in Boston, MA
Study in Green, Original Contemporary Abstract Expressionist Painting 24.0 x 28.0 x 1.0 (HxWxD), Oil Paint This work by artist Anne Ierardi strikes a balance between the rich, yet subdued, colors of an expressionist painting by someone like Henri Matisse, and the color forward abstraction of an artist like Hans Hofmann. A golden yellow competes against a light grassy green to assert dominance in this nearly square composition. Small accents of deep blue, light cream, soft purple, and rich red add punches of energy to the work. Artist Commentary Study in Green expresses my feelings for the beauty of nature and the possibilities that openness and the color green shows...

Green Geishas - Abstract Tree Painting
Located in Boston, MA
Green Geishas 36.0 x 36.0 x 1.5, 18.0 lbs Acrylic Hand signed by artist Artist's Commentary: "Green Geishas is a large original abstract acrylic painting on panel by artist Marlene Struss, protected with satin polymer varnish, signed, wired, cradled in stained wood, and ready to hang in your home or office. With its green and white motiff and crisp and delicate detail, the environment of Green Geishas is one of winter or the Christmas season sparkling with shimmering ice. The trees with their graceful poses resemble beautiful geishas caught in mid-dance." About the Artist: Marlene Struss grew up in California dreaming of being an artist for as long as she can remember. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Santa Barbara in 1973, working with such esteemed instructors as Irma Cavat and Howard Warshaw. Over the years Struss has created bodies of work in media including printmaking, surrealistic montage, realistic pastel, painterly collage, digital paintings, and, at the present time abstract acrylic paintings on panel. Because she strives to succeed without succumbing to artistic trends and dictates, she has developed a highly individualistic style of painting that can be described as biomorphic abstract expressionism. Struss has made steady progress in her career by exhibiting broadly throughout the United States, some foreign countries, and online and being involved in the arts community in Santa Barbara, California. Among the awards she has received are the Individual Artist Award in Assemblage from the Arts Fund of Santa Barbara in 2004 and the Best in Show Award at the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art in its Tri-County Juried Exhibition in 2019. Presently she is represented by 10 West Gallery and the Corridan Gallery and is a member of the Abstract Art Collective in Santa Barbara. She is also represented by Marina Kieser, art consultant catering to the movie and television industry, in North Hollywood. Struss's work can be seen in many television productions, including Man with a Plan, The Big Bang Theory, Mom, Lucifer, NCIS LA, By the Book, New Girl...
