About the Item
Lush layers of white paint in expressive brushstrokes form a geometric pattern that plays out across the canvas in this engaging abstract by Ivo Stoyanov. Internationally recognized for his dynamic compositions, the Canadian artist’s inspiration is drawn from the colours, shapes and textures found in nature. White signifies purity, and a sense of ‘renewal’ and stands out against the spontaneous black and taupe markings that create an intriguing, rich layered background. Stoyanov uses a combination of acrylic paint mediums, marble dust and cold wax that almost appear to vibrate with visible energy.

Ivo Stoyanov received a master’s degree in Mural Painting from the Fine Arts Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria (1990). Stoyanov has been commissioned to create major mural projects in the US, Bulgaria and Canada. His artwork is collected in the US, Canada, Japan, the UK, China, the United Arab Emirates, Spain and Bulgaria.
