About the Item
Stunning mid century mixed media collage of Roman travel items and photos by James A. Couglin, a Berkeley Abstract Expressionist (American, 1929-1979), c.1966. Painted during his Paris period when he studied under Jacques Villegle the French torn paper collage artist. Signed lower right "Jim A Couglin." Presented in natural wood frame with mat and plexiglass. Image size is 20"H x 20"W. Framed size: 30.75"H x 28.50"W x 1"D
James Couglin was born in New York. James Coughlin studied at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and Art Students League. He completed his education at the Tyler School of Fine Arts, Temple University. He painted primarily in abstract style. His work and home studio in the Berkeley area were showcased in "LIfe" magazine back in the 1970's.

James Coughlin
James Coughlin was born in 1926. He studied at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and Art Students League in New York City. Later, Coughlin completed his education at the Tyler School of Fine Arts, Temple University, in Philadelphia.
